Kori Chambers Joins WPIX as Morning Co-Anchor

By Merrill Knox

As expected, WPIX has named Kori Chambers morning co-anchor. Chambers will begin at Tribune’s CW affiliate in New York City, anchoring alongside Sukanya Krishnan weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m., on October 7.

“Kori is a terrific journalist, a great guy, and like many of us, a native New Yorker and the son of immigrants. He is the right fit for PIX11 Morning News and I can’t wait for viewers to see the dynamic between Kori and Suki,” WPIX vice president and news director Mark Effron said in a statement. “I’m confident their easy rapport will complement the newscast as they bring viewers everything they need to know each morning.”

Chambers moves to New York from Chicago, where he was the morning and noon anchor at Fox-owned WFLD. More in the official announcement from WPIX after the jump.
