KOLD Meteorologist on 6-Week Leave for Being ‘Under the Weather’

By Andrew Gauthier

KOLD expects chief meteorologist Chuck George to be back in six weeks following a leave of absence that is reportedly due to him being “under the weather.”

Earlier this week, the Tucson CBS-affiliate publicly announced that George was taking a break after a string of strange behavior that included an erratic showing during a newscast on September 6th.  The following day news director Michelle Germano told staff via email that George was “under the weather” and “hopefully getting some rest.”

KOLD vice president and general manager Debbie Bush tells the Arizona Daily Star that she expects him back in about six weeks.

According to the Daily Star, KOLD producers called Pima Community College to tell them that George would no longer be teaching his class there.
