NBC-owned station KNTV says it’s hired two news reporters and one for sports.
The San Jose (SF Bay Area market) station has hired Jaxon Van Derbeken as a reporter, Chris Chmura as a consumer investigator and Colin Resch as a sports reporter.
Van Derbeken comes from the San Francisco Chronicle where he did investigative and public safety reports. He’ll concentrate on public safety stories for KNTV.

Chmura is the station’s first consumer investigator. He comes from WTVT in Tampa, Fla. where he worked for more than 10 years. Before that, he worked at WFLA in Tampa, Fla., the Associated Press and also Conus TV News Service in Washington, D.C.
Resch was a sports anchor, reporter and producer at KGO in San Francisco. He worked at KPIX before that.
