Los Angeles currently has three professional sports teams playing in the postseason but, according to a recent KNBC graphic (above), the city only has two.
During KNBC’s 6 p.m. newscast on Monday, as anchor Chuck Henry introduced a story about the Lakers and Clippers competing in the NBA playoffs and the Los Angeles Kings playing in the NHL postseason, the station ran a graphic that included the logo of the Sacramento Kings, instead of the LA Kings.
The mistake caught the attention of the hockey Kings and the team tweeted…
Hey @NBCLA. Can we talk about everything that is wrong with this: lockerz.com/s/209070756
— LA Kings (@LAKings) May 15, 2012
To which KNBC responded…
@LAKings: You are correct & we are red-faced. Caught it when it was too late. We’ve corrected the graphic; you won’t see that error again

Last month, Miami’s WSVN made a similar mistake, confusing Florida’s NHL team with a local university.
