KMSP Facebook Posts Contribute To Social Media Lead

KMSP won the ratings race for the past 30 days (April 17-May 17) with a 38.6 share overall in the Minneapolis-St.Paul market.  Share Rocket data shows that the FOX-owned affiliate page has the largest audience of any account on any platform with 634,000 followers on Facebook.

The Tegna-owned NBC affiliate, KARE, came in second place with a 36.7 share overall.

The competition among top individuals is also tight.

KMSP chief meteorologist Ian Leonard led the market with a 1.43 overall share. He his share by +21.9% and his total engagement by +26.6% in past 30 days.  But fellow KMSP meteorologist Keith Marler was right behind him with a 1.4 share thanks to his Facebook Page, which was No. 1 in the market.

On Twitter, KARE led the market with a 36.9 share as a group, with about 50% of that coming from the main station Twitter account. The No. 1 individual in the market on Twitter was Darren Wolfson, a sports anchor and reporter for KSTP (Hubbard-owned ABC affiliate). He published more than 1,000 tweets over the 30 days, the most of any Twitter account in the market except for KARE’s main station account.

On Instagram, KARE had a 37.9 share as a group to lead the pack with more than 41,000 followers and the more than 13,000 engagements.
