KLAS Announces New Morning Anchor Team

Las Vegas CBS-affiliate KLAS is set to debut a new morning anchor team.

Beginning July 30th, the KLAS morning newscast will be anchored by Cale Ramaker and Shauna Khorrami (right).

Ramaker comes to KLAS after seven years at WOFL in Orlando, where he anchored the station’s 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.  Khorrami joins the station after anchoring the morning news at KSTU in Salt Lake City.

“We are thrilled to welcome two new anchors to our morning newscasts,” KLAS news director Ron Comings said.  “Las Vegans will have a fresh new alternative to help get their mornings off to a great start.”

Khorrami, who left KSTU at the end of 2011, spent several years as a producer at CNN before pursuing an on-air career with KMIR in Palm Springs, where she worked her way up from general assignment reporter to morning anchor.

Ramaker’s resume includes time at KSTP in Minneapolis-St. Paul and WSYM in Lansing, MI.  He left WOFL in May after his contract was not renewed.

Joining Khorrami and Ramaker will be weather anchor Sherry Swensk, and reporters Brian Loftus and Ken Smith.

Here’s some old footage of Khorrami and Ramaker uploaded to YouTube…
