KKTV Gets a New Home in Colorado Springs

By Merrill Knox

Colorado Springs CBS-affiliate KKTV is plotting a move early next year, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The station purchased an 8,000-square foot building in downtown Colorado Springs, and plans to outfit the new space with all new equipment, rather than shuttling the old equipment to the new newsroom.

“Technologically, we’re really going to go state of the art with it,” VP-GM Nick Matesi told the Gazette. “We’re trying to build the TV station for tomorrow, and not just a TV station but a media outlet — so much is about digital now and incorporating that into the workflow.”

The move is expected in early 2013. Gray Television, KKTV’s parent company, plans to sell the current station headquarters.
