KHOU reporter, Brandi Smith, who helped save a man from his truck during Hurricane Harvey coverage, was on Ellen yesterday.
“We saw the headlights on, windshield wipers going and that’s alerted me that someone was inside,” Smith told Ellen during the segment which aired yesterday.
She flagged down a rescue to help the man in the truck, Robert, who surprised Smith on the show along with his wife.

“Thank you for saving my life. You will always be my angel,” he told Smith.
Cheerios, who sponsored the segment, donated $25,000 to hurricane relief. Ellen gave Robert a gift too, $10,000 to help recover in the wake of Harvey.
