KHON Announces Anchor Changes

dashefsky-yamaneHonolulu, HI, FOX affiliate KHON, has announced a few anchor changes in preparation for the launch of its 9:00 p.m. newscast, September 8.

Marisa Yamane will join Howard Dashefsky, as co-anchor of the weekday 5:00 & 9:00 p.m. news.

“I thank our viewers — our extended KHON2 ohana — for putting their trust in us to inform them about what’s happening across the state. It’s a privilege that I don’t take lightly,” said Yamane. “I am so excited and feel honored to work alongside my longtime friend Howard, who’s such a talented, experienced, and well-respected journalist.”

The station also announced the addition of Kelly Simek as the weekday morning weather anchor.

Replacing Yamane on weekends will be Kathy Muneno. Dashefsky recently re-joined KHON to anchor the 9:00 p.m. show.

In a statement,KHON GM Kristina Lockwood said, “We are thrilled about the exciting changes coming this fall at KHON2.”
