KEYT anchor and reporter CJ Ward had a close call while surfing off the Santa Barbara coast.
Ward, who is an experienced surfer, said he ended up getting thrown against the rocks by a set of big waves after the leash to his surfboard broke.
Someone saw it and called 911. The Santa Barbara ABC station said Ward was able to walk out of the water and will be back on-air on Thursday.
