KETV’s Adrian Whitsett Returns to Air Following DUI, Asks Viewers for Forgiveness

By Andrew Gauthier

“I made a mistake, a huge mistake, and it nearly cost me everything,” KETV anchor-reporter Adrian Whitsett said in a recent interview with the station’s senior anchor, Rob McCartney, speaking about his DUI conviction.

After an unpaid leave of absence following his arrest in January, Whitsett returned to work last month and returned to the air this week. The Omaha ABC-affiliate cleared the way for his on-air return by airing a story on Sunday in which Whitsett asks viewers for forgiveness.

“I really hope…that people can look at what I did, you know, for almost four and a half years at KETV, and that trust that I built up and then obviously breached with this, with the DUI, and know that it’s still there, that it’s in my character to be trustworthy,” Whitsett told McCartney.
