Keith Garvin Moves To Mornings at KTVT

By Merrill Knox

After an exhaustive search for a morning anchor, CBS owned-and-operated KTVT in Dallas has named an in-house journalist to fill the open spot: 4 p.m. anchor Keith Garvin.

Garvin, who began this morning, will co-anchor the morning show with Lisa Piniero, according to Uncle Barky’s Bytes. He was hired in 2009 to anchor a two-hour evening newscast on sister-station KXTA. That show is being replaced with a locally-produced sports program and a syndicated episode of “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

The KTVT morning show has been without a permanent co-anchor since March, when Scott Sams was cut loose in March after four years with the station.
