Kathryn Bonfield, an assistant news director for Tampa’s WFLA, is moving to the other side of Florida to become news director for Jacksonville’s WJXT.
The Post-Newsweek-owned independent station announced this week that Bonfield would fill the position vacated by Mo Ruddy. Ruddy had led the WJXT newsroom for over nine years before departing at the end of 2010 to pursue other opportunities.
Bonfield, who graduated from the University of Florida, served as news director for NBC-affiliate WCBD in Charleston, SC before becoming WFLA’s assistant ND.
