WPXI has announced Katherine Amenta will co-anchor the Pittsburgh NBC affiliate’s morning news alongside current anchor Joe Arena starting in August.
“Katherine is going to be a fantastic addition to the morning team,” said WPXI news director Mike Oliveira in a statement. “In addition to being a strong anchor and journalist, she’s the type of person who will have a positive effect on our newsroom and our community.”
Amenta comes from WJLA in Washington, D.C. She has also worked for WMDT in Salisbury, MD.

“I am joining an amazing team,” said Amenta. “I’m very lucky to have so many family and friends nearby. I already have Pirates fever and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds!”
