KABC Leads Social Media Ratings

KABC, the ABC-owned station, held on to first place overall in the Los Angeles market over the last 30 days, raising their overall Share by +4.8% compared to the previous 30 days to a 34.8 Share score. KABC held off a big charge from second-place KTTV (Fox O&O), however. KTTV increased its Share by +16.2% in the month to raise their overall Share to a 30.7. KTLA remained in third over the 30 days with an overall Share of 15.8.

As a group, KABC was No. 1 on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and the KABC main station account was the No. 1 overall account on each of those platforms over the last 30 days. Yet the busy news month gave all stations a boost in total Engagement compared to the 30 days prior, KTTV saw a 44.8% increase.

It was a very busy month for Los Angeles local news stations on social media, with three stations seeing increases of +27% or more in total Engagement compared to the 30 days prior. KTTV saw a +44.8% increase in total Engagement compared to the 30 days prior.

KABC’s main Facebook Page saw 4 million total Engagements in the month, and averaged 4,885 Engagements per post. KTTV’s main Facebook Page generated more than 3.5 million Engagements and KTLA’s generated nearly 1.2 million. KTLA was also helped by their Morning News sub-brand Page, which added around another half-million Engagements.

Among individuals overall, KTTV’s Araksya Karapetyan was No. 1 in the market over the last 30 days with a 1.85 Share, followed by Maria Quiban with a 1.20 Share, and KVEA’s (Comcast/NBC-owned Telemundo station) Stephanie Himonidis with a 1.01 Share.
