Julio Vaqueiro Joins Telemundo Los Angeles

Julio Vaqueiro has been named morning co-anchor at Telemundo Los Angeles. Vaqueiro will anchor alongside Dunia Elvir beginning October 1.

“Vaqueiro brings a depth of experience from his work covering international news. He will be an integral part of ‘Buenos Dias Los Angeles’ providing great news coverage to our Latino community,” Telemundo Los Angeles president and general manager Celia Chavez said in a statement.

Vaqueiro’s hire is timed with the expansion of the morning newscast, which will add an additional hour beginning next week. More from Telemundo Los Angeles after the jump.

The Show will Expand to Two Hours Airing Live from 5-7AM Weekdays

LOS ANGELES (September 30, 2013) — Telemundo 52- KVEA announced today that Julio Vaqueiro has been named News Anchor for “Noticiero Telemundo 52, Buenos Dias Los Angeles.” Vaqueiro will join Dunia Elvir as co-anchor of the weekday morning show, effective October 1st, 2013. That same day, “Noticiero Telemundo 52, Buenos Dias Los Angeles,” which currently broadcasts from 6am-7am, will expand to two hours to air live Monday to Friday from 5am to 7am.

“Noticiero 52, Buenos Dias Los Angeles” covers local news, transit, weather, and entertainment in a dynamic and interactive manner.  The morning program airs a variety of segments tailored to the southern California Latino community, including up-to-the-minute news, health, and immigration, amongst others.

Born in Mexico, Vaqueiro launched his journalism career at El Sol San Juan newspaper in the Mexican state of Queretaro, writing local stories.  After several writing positions at different media outlets, including Grupo Editorial Expansion, he became an on-camera personality reporting the news. Prior to joining “Noticiero 52, Buenos Dias Los Angeles,” Vaqueiro was a news correspondent with “Al Rojo Vivo,” Telemundo’s hit news magazine, covering political and international news since 2011.

Vaqueiro received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the Anahuac University in Mexico.
