Julie Tremmel Files Grievance Against WJAR

julie tremmel_wjarJulie Tremmel, the WJAR reporter who was let go last week, has filed a grievance against the Providence, RI, NBC affiliate, a spokesperson for IBEW Local 1228 has confirmed with TVSpy.

“I was terminated without cause from WJAR and my Union and I are fighting it through the grievance and arbitration process in our Contract with the Station,” Tremmel told GoLocal Prov. “That is all I’m prepared to say at this time.”

Tremmel is best known for her report on “how to avoid a bear attack” which went viral and for doing a standup while walking on her hands.

There is a “Bring Julie Tremmel Back to NBC 10” petition online. Currently it has 146 signatures out of a goal of 1000.

TVSpy has asked Media General for comment. We will update when we hear back.
