Sarasota ABC affiliate WWSB has hired Jennifer Hardy as news director.
This is a move within Raycom for Hardy, who is news director at WAAY in Huntsville, Ala. The two stationsare owned by Calkins, which was purchased by Raycom in April.
“Her efforts have established WAAY as a strong competitor in the market with unique franchises,” said a press release about the hire.

Before coming to WAAY, Hardy worked as news director at KOLO in Reno, Nevada. She’s been the assistant news director at KVVU in Las Vegas, KXLY in Spokane, Wash., and KOKI in Tulsa, Okla. She’s also worked at WMC in Memphis, Tenn., KOLD in Tucson, Ariz. and KRNV in Reno.
