Janelle Hall has been named anchor of the 12 p.m. newscast at WTAE, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh.

“An accomplished journalist and skilled live broadcaster, Janelle is a great fit for the Noon newscast. In addition to her professional background Janelle has a proven relationship with Pittsburgh news viewers,” WTAE GM Charles W. Wolfertz III said in a statement.

Hall joined WTAE in 2004 as a reporter. She moved to weekend morning anchor in 2007 and moved to weekdays as the traffic and breaking news anchor for the morning newscast last year. She will continue in that role as she adds the noon newscast to her responsibilities.

Hall replaces Sally Wiggin, who is taking over as host of “WTAE Chronicle.”
