Jacqueline Ortiz Leaving San Antonio’s WOAI

jacqueline ortizAfter 16 years at WOAI-KABB, Jacqueline Ortiz is leaving the stations to spend more time with her family, the San Antonio Express- News reports.

“It was her decision,” WOAI-KABB news director Blaise Labbe said. “She wanted to spend more time with her family. Before she signed her last contract, she had said her husband wanted her to be home more with her kids — a son and daughter — but she decided to stay on the job.”

Ortiz will continue to co-anchor the weekend newscasts until July 13. Until a permanent replacement is hired, KABB weekend anchor Grace White will anchor alongside Jaie Avila on the WOAI weekend newscasts and Ted Garcia will anchor solo on the KABB weekend newscasts, according to the Express-News.
