‘It Was Scary’: Wife of WTTG GM in Maryland Mall During Shooting

Kristin Paolini, the wife of WTTG general manager Patrick Paolini, told the Washington, D.C. FOX owned station what it was like being inside the mall during Saturday morning’s Maryland mall shooting.

Paolini said she was inside a Macy’s dressing room when the shooting started. “As soon as we exited the dressing room,” Paolini told WTTG anchor Laura Evans. “We knew that something horrible was happening.”

Darion Marcus Aguilar used a 12-gauge shotgun to kill two employees of a skateboard shop inside The Mall in Columbia, MD, before turning the gun on himself.

Paolini said she was in contact with her brother who is a Sergeant in the Connecticut State Police. She said he let her know what was happening and was telling her what to do, as she said, “just in case.”
