An Introduction to TV News Reporting

By Andrew Gauthier

Here’s a heads-up: Mediabistro’s “Intro to TV News Reporting” course begins tomorrow in New York.

The class, taught by veteran reporter Debra Alfarone (right) of WPIX, goes over the basics of what it takes to be a good TV news reporter, including how to structure a piece, write a killer script, deliver a live report, and conduct on-camera interviews.

In addition to providing the fundamentals needed to pursue a career in TV journalism, the class gives students the opportunity to tape a studio segment as well as a live stand-up.
