Internet Digs Up Video of Reporter’s Meltdown

By Andrew Gauthier

Back in March, 2010, then-WVLT reporter Gordon Boyd had an on-air meltdown that became a viral hit. The popularity of the infamous video spurred Boyd to resign from the Knoxville CBS-affiliate last year.

“I wasn’t going to be able to get back on the air,” Boyd told Knoxville.com at the time, “in part because YouTube… wouldn’t let it go.”

Well it seems like YouTube–and a slew of media aggregators–still isn’t able to let it go.  The video has reemerged on YouTube and in the past few days has been picked up the Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, and Mediaite, among other sites that don’t seem to care that the incident happened over a year ago.

As for Boyd, he’s since landed at WRCB in Chattanooga.
