In Addition to CNN, WMUR Partnering with ABC News for Debate

By Andrew Gauthier

On the heels of announcing its partnership with CNN, WMUR is saying that it will team with ABC News to cover the Republican presidential primary debate. The ABC-affiliate will work with both CNN and ABC News to cover the debate, which will be the first big test for Republican presidential hopefuls.

“WMUR is proud of our history of partnering with ABC for presidential debates,” said Jeff Bartlett, WMUR’s president and general manager. “We are looking forward to producing another informative debate.”

WMUR partnered with ABC News in 2008 to produce debates for both the Democratic and Republican primaries. The 2008 debates were some of the highest rated programs in the history of WMUR.

“The days between Iowa and New Hampshire have often been make-or-break for candidates and we look forward to putting the crucial questions of the day to the contenders for the Republican nomination,” said incoming ABC News president Ben Sherwood. “We are confident that voters in New Hampshire, and across the country, will be able to make even better decisions after watching this debate.”

The upcoming debate will now air nationally on both ABC and CNN as well as stream live on the websites of ABC, CNN, and WMUR.
