Hit-and-Run Suspect Hides in KSHB Parking Lot

Kansas City police responded to the KSHB studios early Friday evening after a hit-and-run suspect fled the scene of a nearby accident and ran into the station’s parking lot.

KSHB employees saw the suspect enter the parking lot on foot and hide underneath one of the station’s news vans. Christa Dubill, the station’s weekday evening anchor, recorded the incident on her cell phone (video above).

The other driver involved in the accident followed the suspect into the KSHB parking lot, where the two men began fighting. The suspect eventually climbed over a fence and left the parking lot.

During the chase, the suspect told a KSHB staffer that he was out on parole and driving his wife’s car. Police eventually apprehended him just a few blocks from the station’s studio. [via Bottom Line Communications]
