Hearst Television has promoted Jordan Wertlieb to executive vice president. Wertlieb has been president and general manager of the Hearst-owned NBC-affiliate WBAL since 2005.

“Jordan has been an outstanding executive for Hearst Television in a variety of assignments over the past 17 years,” David J. Barrett, president and CEO of Hearst Television, said in making the announcement. “As president and general manager of WBAL-TV, he has guided the station to enviable success in news, citizenship, sales and profitability, and reputation. He has great passion, energy and enthusiasm for our company and our industry.”

Wertlieb worked his way up through Hearst’s sales ranks, beginning in 1993 as national sales manager for Boston’s WCVB. In 1999, he moved to WBAL, where he served as general sales manager before being promoted to president and GM in 2005.
