Hearst Television Creates Digital Managing Editor Position

Hearst has brought on a managing editor to oversee daily original content for the TV station division. It is a new position in the company.

Emily Phillips will join the team as a managing editor from Bloomberg where she focused on mobile user experiences.

“We are very excited to welcome Emily to Hearst Television and believe her accomplished digital media background will be help us break new ground in Hearst’s digital innovation,” said Jordan Wertlieb, Hearst Television president.

Previously, Philips worked at the Wall Street Journal where she developed push-alert strategies built newsletters, redesigned and launched news apps. Prior to that, she served as managing editor at Mashable. Before moving to New York City, she was a reporter at local newspapers in Georgia and Wisconsin.

She will begin in her new role October 16.
