By Andrew Gauthier

Gray Television, which currently owns and operates stations in 30 markets, today announced record revenue for the second quarter of 2012.

Gray stations brought in $94.7 million in revenue during the second quarter–a 24% increase from the same period last year and the highest second quarter total ever for the company.  The record haul was driven by increases in political advertising, retrans revenue, and both local and national advertising.

The station group marked a 467% increase in political advertising for the second quarter, bringing in $13.1 million.  Internet advertising was up 31%, to $6.4 million, and local advertising notched a 1% increase, to $48.4 million.
