WXMI sports anchor Evan Beach is leaving the Grand Rapids Fox affiliate to work in Real Estate.
Beach told MLive he will occasionally work at the station as a freelancer. He came back in 2015 after working there once before as a sports photographer and editor.
“It’s something that I’ve been thinking about for a while,” said Beach. “When I took the job it was with the intention of either hopefully moving up or getting out and getting into something else that would allow me to stay in Grand Rapids.”

The station is not expected add someone in sports, but rather fill the position with an assignment editor. Senior sports anchor Jason Hutton said he and Stephanie Funkhouser will remain as full-time employees with addition freelance help.
