Gloria Echeverry Joins Telemundo New York

Gloria Echeverry has been named co-anchor of the evening newscasts at Telemundo New York. Beginning September 30, she will co-anchor the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts alongside Jorge L. Ramos.

“I begin this new phase excited to be part of Telemundo Nueva York’s great team of professionals and eager to share the desk with Jorge Ramos,” Echeverry said in a statement. “I look forward to delivering our audience the news of the day, and advising them on how that information is going to directly affect their families.”

Echeverry has anchored several newscasts in her native Colombia as well as in Miami. She has previously worked at Social Action of the Presidency of the Republic and Image and Press and the Ministry of Communications in Colombia.

NEW YORK September 26, 2013Telemundo Nueva York today announced that Colombian journalist Gloria Echeverry has been named news anchor for “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva York,” effective September 30. In her new role, Echeverry will co-anchor the 6pm and 11pm weekday newscasts along with renowned journalist Jorge Ramos.

With over 15 years of experience in television, radio and business communications, Gloria, the youngest of three siblings also dedicated to journalism, developed her informative skills at an early age. She has anchored several newscasts in her native Colombia and also one in Miami, and has worked at companies such as Social Action of the Presidency of the Republic, Image and Press and the Ministry of Communications in Colombia.

Echeverry holds a degree in Social Communications and Journalism from the Universidad Central of Colombia and is currently pursuing a degree in Social Media Marketing from Interlat Communication and Marketing.
