Sinclair Broadcasting Group has named Glen Callanan general manager of its Cedar Rapids, IA, CBS affiliate KGAN. Sinclair also said Callanan will oversee sales and other non-programming related services at FOX affiliate KFXA pursuant to an outsourcing agreement.
“I am excited to be leading the team at KGAN and KFXA,” said Callanan in a statement “I hope to work with the station employees to make our stations, news product and digital presence more relevant and important to the Cedar Rapids market.”
Before coming to Sinclair, Callanan was the director of interactive and retail sales at WGN in Chicago. From 1999 until 2003, he was the national sales manager at WGN. In between stints at the Tribune-owned Chicago station, he was the general sales manager for KPLR in St. Louis, MO. He has also worked at WOFL in Orlando, FL, TeleRep and other stations in St. Louis.
