Georgia Governor Nathan Deal called out a Georgia TV station for its coverage of Hurricane Matthew.

During a press conference Deal said he wanted to give WTOC a special thank you. The governor said state authorities watched the Savannah, Ga. CBS affiliate’s reports to see what was happening during the storm.

“You play a valuable role in getting the messages out, being able to inform people,” said Governor Deal. “I thank you for that coverage. It was great and it was very helpful.”

“It is our privilege to serve the community in which we live and work,” the station wrote on its Facebook page. “There is still much to be done, and WTOC is there with you every step of the way.”
