FOX 61 Names New Assistant News Director

FOX 61, the Tribune affiliate that covers the Hartford and New Haven market, has named a new assistant news director.

Sharon Butterworth will join the station and report to Liz Grey Godbout, the station vice president and news director.

She will oversee the more than nine hours of programming each day.

“Sharon is a proven leader with extensive experience in the Connecticut and Miami television markets. A tremendous asset in multimedia and a Connecticut native, Sharon will serve our viewers and our award-winning news team extremely well,” said Grey Godbout.

Before joining Tribune, Butterworth was the executive producer of special projects for NBC Connecticut, where she was responsible for the station’s investigative news division. Butterworth also served as the station’s Managing Editor Previously she worked at WPLG in Miami, CBS in Miami, NECN in Massachusetts and WFSB in Hartford, CT.

She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Connecticut.
