Founder of WWLP Kitty Broman Putnam Dies

Kathryn “Kitty” Broman Putnam, the founder of WWLP in Springfield, Mass., died Sunday. She was 97 years old.

Broman, who founded the NBC affiliate in 1953, was the first woman to sit on the board of directors of the National Association of Broadcasters. Watch the station’s tribute to her above.
