Al Gnoza is going back on-air in Harrisburg. CBS affiliate WHP has added the former WHTM anchor to its news team.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with CBS 21 News,” Gnoza said. “This is a fantastic group of people that are putting out first-rate newscasts. I am also very happy that I am able to stay in central Pennsylvania where I have made so many friends and worked with so many exceptional organizations.”
Gnoza was fired from Harrisburg, Pa. ABC affiliate WHTM after making a joke about the testing of the Three Mile Island Nuclear power plant emergency sirens. He told viewers, “If you live around Three Mile Island and you hear emergency sirens tomorrow afternoon, we’re all going to die.”
This is Gnoza’s second stint with the Harrisburg CBS affiliate. From 1998 until 2000, he was a weather anchor at the station. Gnoza was an anchor for CN8 in Philadelphia before joining WHTM.
