Former WCVB Anchor Heather Unruh Says Kevin Spacey Sexually Assaulted Her Teenage Son

By Chris Ariens

Former WCVB anchor Heather Unruh found herself on the other side of TV cameras today when she tearfully talked about the alleged sexual assault of her then 18-year-old son by actor Kevin Spacey.

Unruh hinted at the assault on Twitter last month, but today, alongside her attorney, she detailed what happened in the summer of 2016 at a bar on Nantucket.

Unruh, who was an anchor at WCVB for more than 15 years, said Spacey bought her son “drink after drink after drink and when my son was drunk Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him.”

Unruh joined Boston’s ABC affiliate in 2001 from KFOR in Oklahoma City. She’s also worked at WVTM in Birmingham, WBNG in Binghamton, NY and WVEU (now WUPA) in Atlanta.
