Former Tulsa meteorologist, Dan Threlkeld, is going back to television.

“I left the business for about three and a half years. But you can leave it and still love it,” Threlkeld said during a Facebook Live.

The former KJRH meteorologist will be the new chief meteorologist at the KTUL, the ABC affiliate in the market. The station made the announcement during the 6pm newscast yesterday.

Threlkeld explained that he spent the last few years chasing the weather and blogging about it while holding a job at Oklahoma State University.

“You bring so many years experience and so much heart to our team,” Nelie Jones said at the end of the Facebook live.

In 2013, Threlkeld left the NBC affiliate after 11 years. He starts his new position in September.
