Ameera David has joined Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ as an anchor/reporter.
David last worked at Russian network RT America as host of a financial news show. She was welcomed by co-anchor Anu Prakash on the station’s Saturday morning newscast.
She started her career as a production assistant for NBC News Washington bureau.
“I’m thrilled to return to Detroit to report in the community I call home,” David said. “I grew up watching and admiring WXYZ, so I’m especially honored to join this news team, one that’s known for taking action on the stories that have helped to shape and redefine this great city.”
