Former Louisville GM Dies After Cancer Fight

Neil Kuvin, former general manager of Louisville ABC affiliate WHAS, died Monday morning after battling cancer for more than five years.

Kuvin had been GM at WHAS from 1987 until 1991 and oversaw the station’s move to ABC  in September 1990. He launched the WHAS TV Excel Award, an honor given to an exceptional teacher at a Kentucky or Southern Indiana school.

He is survived by his wife Anita, six children and nine grandchildren. Kuvin was 75.
