Former DC Reporter Becomes Police Spokesperson

Former WJLA reporter Jennifer Donelan has moved to the other side of the police line, joining the Prince George’s County Police Department as lead spokesperson.

The Washington Post reports Donelan, who most recently served as an investigative crime reporter for the DC ABC affiliate, was announced in her new role Monday.

Donelan left WJLA over the summer after ten years, after working at CBS NewsPath and WDIV. At one point, she told the story of her own heart attack at age 36.

The WaPo reports Donelan replaces another former reporter, Julie Parker, who worked at WJLA before becoming a PIO. She left the Prince George’s Police earlier this year for a gig as police spokesperson in Fairfax County.
