Former Baltimore Anchor Jack Bowden Dies

Former WMAR anchor Jack Bowden has died at the age of 82.

“It was like he was getting off the stage,” said his wife, Susan White-Bowden. “He seemed to be at peace.”

The Baltimore Sun reports Bowden left WMAR in 1988 after a contract dispute and started working at WBAL radio in 1989.

A 1981 Sun column said, “It may surprise some people, but the hottest personalities on Baltimore television right now are Jack Bowden and Susan White Bowden, the husband and wife co-anchor team on Channel 2’s Noon News.” The story cited rating that show Mr. Bowden and his wife’s popularity.
