Following High-Profile Departures, KATV Hires New Assistant News Director

By Andrew Gauthier

Little Rock’s KATV has hired Nick Genty as assistant news director, filling one of two vacancies atop its news team.

In January, Alan Faulkner left the assistant AD post and longtime news director Randy Dixon announced earlier this month that he was departing as well.

Genty comes to the ABC-affiliate from crosstown rival KTHV, where he worked for 21 years, first as a photojournalist and most recently as an executive producer.

“This job just kind of found me, and it was just a really good opportunity,” Genty said. “I’m always a believer that news finds you.”

KATV continues to search for a new news director.
