Faran Fronczak, currently the morning news co-anchor at South Bend, Ind., Fox affiliate WSJV, has been promoted to prime-time anchor.
Fronczak will join co-anchor Tom Powell, chief meteorologist John Fischer and sports director Dean Huppert, weekdays at 10 p.m. on FOX28 News at 10.
She replaces longtime anchor Traci Capellman, who announced that she was leaving the station for a new gig in PR in March.
Fronczak announced her promotion in an Instagram post on Saturday, writing, in part:
I never thought in 18 months of starting at FOX28, I would get to sit next to my best friend @tomp574. I have been so lucky and fortunate to watch, learn, and grow from an amazing role model, friend, and super woman @traciduval.
Fronczak begins her new role on May 21.
