Ellen McNamara will join Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV as primary evening co-anchor on Monday.

On KCTV, McNamara will anchor the 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. news alongside Brad Stephens. The two will also anchor the 6:30 and 9:00 p.m. news on KSMO.

McNamara, who comes from KSTP in Minneapolis, Minn., told the Minneapolis Star Tribune, “KSTP offered me a new contract but I felt I was treading water. I felt this was a great opportunity. When the timing is there, you’ve got to jump on it. [My dad] encouraged me to take this job.”
