WHNT anchor Elise Morgan has announced she’s leaving the Huntsville, AL, CBS affiliate to be closer to her mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
“As a journalist, I’m reminded every day how short life is. But when your parent is facing an illness, it brings it even closer to home,” Morgan wrote on the station’s website. “After 7 ½ years away from my family in Texas, it became clear it’s time to go home and cherish every moment I have with all my loved ones.”
Morgan came to WHNT in 2006. She had previously worked at stations in Dallas-Fort Worth and Waco, TX.
