KDVR-LogoEd Kosowski is leaving Denver FOX and CW affiliate KDVRKWGN.

“It’s been a great three year run,” Kosowski told TVSpy. Saying he still had some professional goals he’d like to achieve, he said he’s leaving when his contract is up next week.

Kosowski said he’s most proud of changing the culture during his three years at KDVR, adding “I’m really proud of the talented and diverse team, on-air and behind scenes.”

Before coming to KDVR in July of 2011, Kosowski worked at CNBC for six years. He started his career at WLS in Chicago and has worked as news director at KGO in San Francisco and WHDH in Boston. He has also worked at WRC in Washington, D.C., WTVJ in Miami.

After the jump, you can read the note KDVR  president and GM Peter Maroney sent to staffers to announce Kosowski’s departure.

It is with mixed emotions that I inform you today that Ed Kosowski has resigned his position as Vice President of News and Digital Content effective September 2nd in order to pursue new professional and personal goals.

It was a little over three years ago that Ed accepted my challenge to take our newscasts and interactive media to a higher level of professionalism.  In those three years, he and his team raised standards and expectations significantly for news coverage and newscast production and recruited many of the experienced and talented employees that work in the KDVR/KWGN newsroom today.

Ed and his team will be finishing up their work this week on goals, plans, and budgets for 2015, so I hope you will drop by and wish him the very best in his future career pursuits.  The search for Ed’s replacement will begin immediately.
