Ed Chapuis has been named news director of Scripps-owned KGTV, San Diego’s ABC affiliate.
Chapuis joins from KTXL in Sacramento where he’s been vp and news director since 2013.
“I’m honored to join KGTV to work alongside such a strong group of journalists,” said Chapuis in a statement. “The station has a terrific reputation for creative storytelling, investigative journalism and covering stories that matter to San Diegans.”

Before KTXL, Chapuis spent a decade as news director at KTVU, the Bay Area’s Fox station.
Chapuis has also had stops at KCRA in Sacramento, KTNV in Las Vegas and WMAQ in Chicago.
