A magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit the San Francisco Bay Area at 6:49 a.m. this morning. All the stations were on-air when the temblor struck.
Reactions varied by station. Fox-owned KTVU is closest to the epicenter, explaining Steve Paulson‘s reaction:
KGO meteorologist Mike Nicco nailed the magnitude after the quake hit. KGO sits on landfill. “What’d that feel like?” he asked his co-anchors before answering the question himself by saying, “at least a four. He then continued with his forecast.
Roughly 46 miles south of the epicenter in Piedmont, the newscasters for San Jose based NBC-owned KNTV, didn’t seem to feel a thing, or didn’t say anything.
