Dish Network Set to Drop Graham Stations

Satellite television provider Dish Network is set to drop six local stations from its lineup Wednesday in a retransmission dispute with Graham Media Group.

The stations are Miami ABC affiliate WPLG, Houston NBC affiliate KPRC, Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV, Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG, San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT and Jacksonville indie WJXT.

“We’ve been working very hard to negotiate a fair deal for everybody,” Jerry Martin, KPRC’s general manager, told the Houston Chronicle. “We’ve negotiated dozens, if not hundreds, of similar deals over the years with other providers and have never been taken off the air, so that should tell you something about where the issue lies.”

Graham Media has launched a website encouraging viewers to register their displeasure with Dish over the potential loss of the stations.
