Dick Anthony, a longtime news anchor who spent 23 years at KDAL in Duluth, died Monday. He was 92.
“He was an instritution,” Duluth historian Jim Heffernan said. “The original 6 o’clock news guy.”
In his long tenure at the station, he played several roles: reporter, producer and anchor. He kept busy with radio broadcasts in the morning and television broadcasts in the evening, his son Rick told the News Tribune.
“He was extremely careful in the use of words,” KDAL radio anchor Pat Cadigan said. “And he would accentuate every vowel, almost every letter.”
